Experience a section of the famous
Hemma pilgrimage route.
Along the way, however, you should not just look inwards, otherwise you will miss the wonderful view from the Petelinz vantage point. On the way, you can pay a visit to the Hemma rock in Guntschach. The hike takes you along idyllic forest paths to the beautiful pilgrimage church of Maria Rain. The Maria Rainer section of the pilgrimage trail ends after a short detour through the village west of the Stifterkogel at the municipal border. Here you have to decide: Let the good Lord be a good man or continue on the pilgrimage trail. Who knows, maybe you have acquired a taste for it?

On the B85 to Ferlach

Start: Ferlach
The markings lead from Ferlach to Gasthof Plasch and further east down the Drau to the Glainach overpass. After the overpass, head uphill to the Hemma rock, then turn left along the country road towards Maria Rain. After a few meters, head south to the Petelinz viewpoint, then through the forest to the Maria Rain pilgrimage church. To the north, the trail leads through the village into the forest, climbs slightly, passing the Stifterkogel to the west in the direction of Lambichl.
