The Ferlacher Horn, also known as Gerlautz, Slovenian:
Grlovec, is part of the Karawanken mountain range.
The mountain was renamed from its original name Harlouz or Gerloutz to Ferlacher Horn at the beginning of the 20th century. The Ferlacher Horn is home to numerous legendary spirits, ghosts and the "Salige Frauen". The Ferlacher Horn, the landmark of the gunsmith town, offers hikers several ascent options. The shortest ascent, which is also very scenic, begins in Zell Oberwinkel. Franzbauer: Romantic place with a magnificent view of the mighty towering rock faces of the Karawanken. After 2 1 hours you reach the summit, the effort is rewarded with a wonderful view. Koschuta, Loibler Baba, Bilschitza and Mittagskogel can be seen. The gunsmith town of Ferlach lies at your feet.

Parking lot in Zell-Oberwinkel on the right side of the road
Directions
Start: Parking lot to the right of the road.
Follow the asphalt road over the bridge steeply up to the "Franzbauer" estate. There, hiking trail 632 branches off to the left at the last houses. After approx. 1 hour you reach the W ridge and meet the Südalpenweg 603. Follow this path to the right (east) first through the forest, then along the edge of the Nordabbruch and finally over the grassy summit crest to the Ferlacher Horn. The way back is the same as the ascent.
