Directions
You start with your new e-mountain bike in Mühlbach/St. Jakob on the Drau cycle path in the direction of Feistritz im Rosental. After crossing this small, well-kept village, you cycle uphill on asphalt through the picturesque Bärental valley to the former Stouhütte inn and continue on gravel to the last parking lot. You are in the heart of the Karawanken on a beautifully maintained forest road. From the Matschacher Alm it is not far to your destination, the Klagenfurter Hütte. After a refreshment of "homemade Topfenreinkalan sweet or sour" and a local Holler juice, you are ready for the descent, which is technically very demanding. The rapid descent through the Bärental valley and the last few kilometers back to the starting point end this eventful and impressive day.
