New two-day program at Wörthersee EXTREM 2023!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2023:

• Pick up of starter packages 16.00 - 20.00 hrs.
• Multi Visions Lecture "Alpe Adria Trail - Hiking in the Garden of Eden" by Herbert Raffalt at 20.30 in the Casineum Velden (free admission for participants / additional tickets € 15,-)
• Dinner specials at our gastronomy partner "Restaurant Wrannissimo" from 18.00 to 22.00 o'clock
• Briefings for the hike at 11.00 p.m. or 11.30 p.m. in front of the reading room of the municipality of Velden
• Start "Wörthersee EXTREM" at 24.00 o'clock in the Kurpark Velden

SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, 2023:

• from 14.00: Finisher Pasta, souvenir photo and Casino Velden wheel of fortune in the "Restaurant Wrannissimo".

Wörthersee Extreme on 07 January 2023

This special hiking challenge already begins extremely. It starts exactly at the witching hour in the night from 7 to 8 January 2023 in the middle of the Kurpark in Velden. Without stopping, it goes actively through the night until the first, longed for, refreshment station with warm food and drinks awaits you at the Karawankenblick restaurant on the descent from the Pyramidenkogel. From there, it's fast on to Klagenfurt for the second breakfast. On the further route there are warm-up and refreshment stations at Gut Draßing in Krumpendorf and at Thadäushof in Sekull. When you reach the Kurpark in Velden again, you know 100% that you are a Wörthersee Extreme Finisher.

This is what you can expect from this hiking format:

• Multi Visions lecture "Alpe Adria Trail - Hiking in the Garden of Eden" by Herbert Raffalt on January 7 at 8:30 p.m. at the Hotel Post in Velden.
• A "Wörthersee Starter Package" with a Wörthersee gift and sponsor goodies
• Accompaniment of the starter field with pace-makers(different speeds - depending on ability and fitness level there is the right speed for everyone!) Please note: the pacemakers should help you to orientate yourself to their target times. They are not hiking guides!
• Four heated indoor lab stations incl. food & hot drinks
• Pick-up service at all aid stations in case you have to abort the race
• Finisher medal and certificate for your participation
• Finisher - Pasta in the restaurant Wrannissimo

Hiking takes place in all weathers!

Route: from the Kurpark in Velden along the Wörthersee circular hiking trail (blue and white markings / yellow signs) counterclockwise along the Wörthersee circular hiking trail.

Route length: 62km

Altitude difference: 1 .800 Hm

Walking time: approx. 12 - 15 hours

Starting point: Kurpark in Velden on Lake Wörthersee

Date / Time Start: 7 . on 8. January at midnight (24.00 o'clock)

Time end: 16:00 o'clock at the finish or at the latest until 14:00 o'clock passing the last refreshment station

Parking possibilities: at the ice rink Velden, tennis hall Velden and at Café Marietta at the west entrance of Velden

Pick up Starter Package - in the reading room of the municipality of Velden:

• January 7, 2023 from 16.00 to 20.00 hrs.
• Without personal collection of the Starter Package participation is not possible!
• Personal collection is obligatory. Please show official photo ID, Eventjet ticket and, if applicable, proof of discount (e.g. kelag Plusclub Joker or Kleine Zeitung Vorteilscard)! If, according to the current regulations of the federal government, any proof of COVID-19 is required, this must also be presented at the time of pick-up.

CONTROL OF THE OBLIGATORY EQUIPMENT!

• We will check the obligatory equipment of each participant without exception.
• headlamp
• charged cell phone
• Insulation layer: jacket, hat, gloves
• Rain layer: jacket, trousers
• Thermos flask with warm drink (refill possibility available on site!)
• Aluminum emergency blanket

In case of missing equipment, participation is not possible due to safety reasons!

Late registration:

• No late registration due to high booking situation.

Changing room / luggage depot: there will be a checkroom in the reading room of the Municipality of Velden on Saturday, January 7 from 20:00. Here personal items/luggage/clothes can be deposited. The room is closed on Sunday, January 8 from 0.00 to 8:00, no access possible!
If you absolutely want to have permanent access to your belongings, we ask you to store them in your own car or accommodation.
The organizer is not liable for deposited things!

Participant Briefings: 2 briefings before the start at 23.00 and 23.30 in front of the reading room of the Gemeindeamt Velden.

Pacemakers: there will be pacemakers to help you reach a targeted finish time (12, 13 or 14 hours).

Refreshments:

4 refreshment stations along the route with free hot drinks and food.

• Restaurant Karawankenblick: Soup and bread
• Lab station Klagenfurt
• Gut Draßing in Krumpendorf: soup with side dish
• Thadeushof in Sekull: snack and clear soup

For almost all of our participants, our refreshment stations are sufficient for all of their energy needs. Please take additional personal provisions with you if necessary, or cash for a possible stop at an inn / supermarket.

If the legs don't want to anymore: There is the possibility to be brought back to the starting point by our driver at the refreshment stations.
