Numerous small roads with little traffic are typical of the Jauntal valley. Lake Klopeiner See is a great place to cool off on hot summer days. At 29 degrees, it is considered the warmest lake in Austria. Hollenburg Castle, which towers mightily over the Ferlach reservoir, is one of the most important castle complexes in Carinthia. Ferlach, the main town in the Rosental valley, is the southernmost town in Austria and is known as a gunsmith's town. The Gothic pilgrimage church of Maria Wörth, built in 875 AD, is visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year. A real island until 1170, before the water level of Lake Wörthersee was artificially lowered.
