Lendkanal tramway
At the Lendkanal near the lake a small piece of Klagenfurt tram history has been preserved: The Museum Tramway Klagenfurt Lake.
Starting point of the approx. 0.7 km long route into the Lendspitz nature reserve is the buffet "Zur Tramway" at the Lendkanal. Get on board and take a trip back to the time of the "good old tram". At the end point you will visit an exhibition about the Lendspitz landscape conservation area.
Included in the price of the tickets is a visit to the Klagenfurt City Transport and Cinema Museum in the former ORF medium wave transmitter in the immediate vicinity of the buffet "Zur Tramway". The museum deals with public transport in Klagenfurt, shipping on Lake Wörthersee and - very specifically - the history of cinema and film in Klagenfurt.
In pictures, models and films historical means of transport come to life again and give an insight into the development of the city, the surrounding area and public transport.
A part of the museum houses treasures from Carinthian cinemas. Experience a journey through time from the beginnings to the heyday of Carinthia's cinemas.
