Armorial Hall at Landhaus
You don't need to have a historical interest to find this place breathtaking. The Coat of Arms Hall in the Klagenfurt Landhaus is a large banquet hall with intricately painted walls. Here you truly feel elevated and are hardly able to stop marveling at the countless family coats of arms and their impressive histories.
The Fürstenstein is the most important historical symbol of the area between Carinthia and Slovenia, as the Princes of Carinthia have been appointed there for centuries in both national languages – German and Slovenian.
With 665 coats of arms of the Carinthian estates, the most famous Carinthian Baroque painter Josef Ferdinand Fromiller has adorned the imposing room, creating a pictorial reminder of just as many princes and noble houses through their heraldic symbols. Children can play detective in the Coat of Arms Hall as part of the riddle rally "Coats of Arms and Fabulous Animals."
NEW from March 4, 2025: GATE TO DEMOCRACY
In the entrance area to the Coat of Arms Hall in the Landhaus Klagenfurt, a new "Gate to Democracy" has been created. The significance and forms of democracy, as well as dangers to democracy, will be presented in a contemporary manner aimed at a young audience. Democracy becomes an experience! A world where the boundaries between reality and digital fiction blur.
