Declaration on accessibility

This website is partially incompatible with compliance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1" or with the applicable European Standard under Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

The following subparts of the WCAG are not met with respect to compliance level AA.

a. Incompatibility with accessibility requirements.

• Magazine images do not have text alternatives. Decorative images have non-empty alt attributes.
• Headings are not used correctly.
• Labels and error messages are sometimes not associated with the corresponding input fields. The error status of forms is sometimes communicated only by color.
• Elements such as video players, the social wall and filter menus are not fully visible or only at certain screen sizes. Text on card elements is partially truncated.
• Not all menus and filter options are fully navigable via keyboard input. Not all buttons and links are accessible via keyboard navigation. The hamburger menu in the mobile view cannot be opened via keyboard input. Content that is displayed on mouseover cannot be displayed to keyboard input users. The order of focused elements when using keyboard navigation is not optimal in all cases.
• The navigation elements are not consistent on all subpages. When scrolling, the menu bar displays an additional link.
• Some links do not visually distinguish themselves from other text elements.
• Some links correspond to the function of a button element.
• The website code contains syntax errors.
• Displayed modals are not reported to screen reader users. When using some filter options, screen readers do not notify users about the updated list of search results. In the coupon order form, screen readers do not notify users when mandatory fields are not filled in.

b. Disproportionate load

• There are currently no text alternatives to audio-only content.

c. Content does not fall within the scope of applicable legislation

In case of unsatisfactory answers from the above contact option, you may contact the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency with Limited Liability (FFG) by means of a complaint. The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form of the complaints office.

The complaints are examined by the FFG to determine whether they relate to violations of the requirements of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an institution attributable to it.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG must issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the deficiencies at hand.
