Every day is a feast for the senses, with culinary, cultural, musical and regional highlights that offer participants an unforgettable cycling experience - inspired by the car-free day at Lake Wörthersee. Trained guides accompany the tour and a dedicated bike service team is on hand to fix any minor technical problems. Culinary stops round off each stage.
The Velovista can be experienced as a complete tour over all five days or as a single day trip. A special booking center supports participants in organizing overnight stays, luggage transport or rental bikes to make their stay as pleasant as possible.
Stage details
The Velovista tour begins and ends in the charming town of Villach, which is located in the border triangle of Slovenia, Italy and Austria. Villach impresses with its picturesque town center and offers the perfect starting point for the upcoming stages.
First stage: The journey starts on the famous Drau cycle path, which leads participants through the idyllic Rosental valley into the Jauntal valley. The destination is Lake Klopein, Carinthia's southernmost and warmest lake. A culinary and musical experience awaits cyclists there, rounded off by a free visit to the bathhouse.
Second stage: From Lake Klopeiner See, the route continues to Völkermarkt and then along the Drau cycle path to Klagenfurt. The provincial capital has prepared the "Hafenzwitschern" in the Lendhafen harbor for the participants, offering culinary and artistic delights with live music. In the evening, the Klagenfurt Burghof invites you to the performance "Jedermann reloaded" with Philipp Hochmair.
Third day: This day is at leisure. If the weather is fine, the Klagenfurt lido offers free admission. Alternatively, there are two attractive cycle tours including a free boat trip on Lake Wörthersee and a walk on the Kreuzbergl with a tour of the city center.
Fourth stage: The route leads from Klagenfurt along the Lend Canal to Lake Wörthersee. Participants cycle along the northern shore of the lake to Velden, where a culinary stopover is planned in the town center. From Velden, the route follows the Drau cycle path back to Villach. In the evening, participants can enjoy the Kärnten Therme spa with musical entertainment.
Fifth stage: On the last day, the tour leads from the center of Villach along the Drau cycle path to Lake Ossiach, which is circumnavigated in an anti-clockwise direction. A highlight is the stopover at the former Benedictine monastery in Ossiach. The route runs mostly along the lakeshore back to Villach and offers an almost car-free cycling experience.
