The start is the same as the Bannwaldtour at the tourist information and the first kilometer has the same course. Still past the district heating plant and along the forest road to the beginning of the Pörtschacher Alm. Here is an information board for the Wörthersee circular hiking trail. After another 50 meters there is a turnoff to the left. Here begins the own marking for the connection Pörtschach - Techelsberg. Passing the farmsteads of the Pörtschacher Alm, a gently sloping forest road invites you to a brisk descent.
After about 500 m we come again to a small settlement on the northwestern outskirts of Pörtschach, come close to a highway bridge and cross the road from Pörtschach to Moosburg. Be sure to observe the priority sign and cross the road quickly! Attention, blind bend.
After only 50 m on the road, immediately turn left again and continue to follow the markings, which coincide on this section with the course of the Wörthersee Rundwanderweg. At a barefoot running track you branch off to the left across the stream and a steeply ascending section of about 250 m follows. After another 500 m of wonderful single trail, the trail branches off to the left. Along a fence, the footpath then rejoins a gravel road. Turn left and follow the road until you reach the Techelsbergstraße after another 500 m. There you join the Techelsbergstraße. There you join the Techelsbergrunde.
RETURN TO PÖRTSCHACH:
The way back to Pörtschach follows the same route for about 200m. At a lonely house you turn right, ride along the highway for a while and cross it at an underpass. Follow the road along the highway until you reach another underpass. Do not go through there, but turn right.
A short excursion with a pushing passage leads to the marked and highly recommended viewpoint "Hohe Gloriette". One of the most beautiful views on the north side of the lake.
With or without an excursion to the Gloriette, we continue in a brisk descent through the Leonstain Forest until we rejoin the route of the Bann
