From the Koschutahaus we hike uphill on the Kärntner Grenzweg (KGW) and the Panoramaweg Südalpen (PSA) to the Koschutnikturm junction, pass several scree slopes north of the Koschuta massif and leave this mountain range on the eastern flank of the Dicken Koschuta. After the descent, we reach the Potoksattel and pass the Kališnikturm - shortly afterwards we turn off in front of the Reschounikturm to the Meležnik and Schaidasattel. From here we hike, now without long-distance hiking trails, to the Trögerner Klamm nature reserve, where we meet the Via Alpina long-distance hiking trail and the Eisenwurzenweg 08 long-distance hiking trail. After the charming gorge, we hike on the main hiking trails, the KGW and trail no. 628, up to the village of Trögern - past the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche church and the Kepp crossing, we reach the Vellachtal valley with the Christophorus rock via the Pasterksattel.
