The church, located high on the Jakobsfelsen, is also one of the oldest fortified structures in Carinthia and has Roman stones and marble reliefs and frescoes, including a fresco of St. Christopher and the remains of a fresco of Jesus on the Mount of Olives. Some parts of the Romanesque building from the 12th century can still be seen today, e.g. the round tower, loopholes, the churchyard wall, the arch of the east gate. Over the centuries, work was carried out on the church, so that the building with its vaulted hall also shows Gothic traces and the style of baroque sacred buildings.
