Hike to the High Gloriette
First, we go to the Leonstain Castle to visit the Johannes Brahms bust in the
courtyard. From there, you will ascend some steps to one of the most beautiful viewpoints
on Lake Wörthersee, the High Gloriette. Along the way, you will learn from our
local guide about the history of our community.
Enjoy the unique panorama, accompanied by classical sounds
and an information panel about the work of the world-renowned composer
Johannes Brahms in Pörtschach am Wörthersee (1877-1879). Then, we continue past the
ruins of Leonstein Castle, from where you will return to the tourist information center, the
end point of this pleasant yet informative hike.
