On a small asphalted road, past the new school, up to just before a farmhouse on the right across the meadow (signpost). Passing an architecturally somewhat out of the ordinary weekend house, to the nearby forest, where a rutted hollow path tests muscle and lung strength. After an hour, the Uschnikkreuz (1,300 m) is reached. Branching of the path: To the "left" (message board) to Jauernik, to the "right" to Freiberg summit.
The further ascent is clearly indicated - and beautiful! Many a clearing allows dreamlike views of the wonderful world of the Karawanken. Steep slopes are mastered on washed-out paths. A mighty blow dropping down to the valley has to be crossed. Be careful in winter! In early summer butterflies, rare birds and bright alpine flowers bloom. A wide grassy gully descending from the gentle ridge is quickly reached (an avalanche trap in winter). A tiny hut appears on the left: a place to rest and have a peaceful look. But first we have to visit the summit, the best of all resting places. It's already close, you're already at the top...
