At "Kärnten Läuft", the focus is not only on the athletic competition. The wonderful scenery along the beautiful Wörthersee is unique, and Kärnten Läuft is also one of the top 25 most beautiful half marathons in the world.

For three days, every running enthusiast and anyone interested in exercise is offered a colorful and relaxed all-round program for young and old in the experience-oriented Running City. The southern running feeling right by the lake is a key differentiator compared to other running events and offers a perfect vacation platform with sport and fun for the whole family.


The Running City


The event kicks off on Friday afternoon with the Sports Expo in the Running City directly on the shores of the

Wörthersee. More than 30 exhibitors from the sports and adventure sector will be presenting their offerings. The Wiener Städtische Wörthersee Night Run over 4km is the first entertaining warm-up event on the program. Company teams, clubs, running groups and regulars are particularly encouraged to take part - there is a special prize for the most original running outfit.


Running fun for the whole family


This is the motto of the Kärnten Läuft Family Day. The sporty four-legged friends start with the

dog run over 4 kilometers. From 15.00, the youngest running stars will be competing in the Junior Marathon and

the delightful Bambinisprint. At 17.00, the Hyundai Family Run starts, in which

run, where young and old run a total of 400 meters together and from 19.00 the stage belongs

the stage belongs entirely to the running ladies at the Raiffeisen Women's Run.

The sporting highlight awaits on Sunday: the 22nd Kleine Zeitung Wörthersee Half Marathon

from Velden to Klagenfurt - With the unique starting scenery in front of the Veldener Schloßhotel

one of the most beautiful half marathon courses in Austria awaits thousands of participants. The

water start of the AK quarter marathon will once again attract countless running fans to Pörtschach. Regardless of the distance - the emotional highlight, the finish at Klagenfurt Ostbucht, is sure to be a success.


The crowning finale is the Villacher Bier After Run Party, the award ceremony and a well-earned dip in the cool water.
