Tscheppa Gorge nature experience
Our tour today takes us to the southernmost part of Austria.
First, we stroll comfortably along the Loiblbach, until after the Golden Brundl where the actual gorge begins. Extremely well secured, we navigate ladders, steps, and bridges to the first of three waterfalls. A bridge and a spiral staircase lead directly beside the first waterfall upwards, where below the Loiblpass road, we reach the second waterfall. We cross a boldly constructed hanging bridge to reach the roaring Tschaukofall, a spectacular viewing platform, and a massive rock gate. We then follow the nature trail "in the footsteps of Dr. Peter Tschauko." Numerous informational panels educate us about the fauna and flora of the Loibltal. Passing by the refreshing Elf Spring and the Love Place, we finally arrive at the traditional inn "Deutscher Peter." After a well-deserved break, we return to Lake Wörthersee. The elevation difference is about 200 m, with a pure walking time of about 2 hours.
