The young Israeli theater maker Noam Brusilovsky and his team have already highlighted the unimaginable sexual, psychological, and physical violence against young people in Carinthia in the name of medicine with their production "Nicht sehen" at the City Theater Klagenfurt. Now, with their current project , they once again draw attention to the invisible in Carinthia .
Stories about queer past and present will be told. An outline of the oppression of people is sketched, and the fiction of a queer, alpine utopia is envisioned. The focus is on meeting points for queer people in our region, the persecution of homosexuals during the Nazi era, and the victims of the AIDS pandemic, whose deaths were shamefully concealed by their families. Well-known queer personalities from the region are also highlighted, as well as the dangers that the queer community still faces today, not only in Carinthia.
The framework for this is a folk festival: the informal, joyful coming together with music and dance, good food, beer, and apple juice, of course made from Gravensteiner apples. A festival indeed: a colorful celebration of the moment, building on traditions and community.
