Celtic world Frög
The mysterious time of the Hallstatt culture comes alive in the Celtic world of Frög. About 3000 years ago, the dead of an upper class were buried in Frög under huge burial mounds with precious gifts such as jewellery and weapons.
These bear witness to the first contours of a capital city in the Carinthian region.
Unique in Europe is the discovery of a magnificent lead chariot. A system of paths leads through the mortuaries to one of the largest princely graves, which - converted into a show grave - provides deep insights into past death cults.
The Celtic World Frög shows the way of life, cult, world view and social structure of our Celtic ancestors. The focus is on the original jewellery found in the women's grave (burial mound 120). In addition, there are constantly changing special exhibitions of the Carinthian State Museum, which together with days of action of experimental archaeology give visitors a vivid impression of history.
